Next meeting of APPG for the Teaching Profession

Message to members

Following the General Election, I am delighted to report that Ian Mearns will be returning on Tuesday 17th December 2019 as the Member of Parliament for Gateshead.

I will be meeting Ian on Tuesday to agree a date for the first meeting of the APPG, which will take place early in 2020.

We will be in touch with all members as soon as a date has been arranged.

Urgent UPDATE – Meeting Cancelled

Message to members

Dear Colleagues

I am disappointed that, for a reason beyond my control, we have taken the decision to cancel the meeting of the APPG for the Teaching Profession, which was arranged for next Monday.

There is little formal business in Parliament on Monday and many MP’s will be busy in their constituencies.

I would like to thank all of you for the contributions you have made to the APPG, which is one of the best attended groups, by making presentations, offering papers and contributing to our meetings.

The APPG has given a voice to a wide range of professionals from across the education sector. Our agenda has always comprised a variety of topics, with regular contributions.

Parliament will meet again after the election on Monday 16th December 2019, according to the Leader of the House earlier today. The Secretary will set about booking a room for the first meeting of the APPG, hopefully in January 2020.

I would like to thank Georgina Newton and her team at Warwick University for acting as the Secretariat for our very active APPG.

I look forward to meeting you again, if spared, early in 2020.
